Aero is everything! In the wind tunnel, we assess and optimize the flow characteristics of the athlete. The lower the CdA value, the better the aerodynamics. Our goal for every athlete is to achieve a perfect synergy of aerodynamics and biomechanics!
Whether it’s a speedsuit, helmet, or aero calves; whether it’s the frame, wheelset, or cockpit. The list of materials influencing aerodynamics is extensive. We optimize materials considering the aero position and have numerous materials available for on-site testing.
In THE AEROW’s wind tunnel, two worlds of aerodynamic optimization converge: From the world of engineering comes aem GmbH. For decades they’ve been engaged in the development, conceptualization, construction, and operation of wind tunnels, particularly in the automotive industry. From the sports science world of endurance sports comes HYCYS. With three locations in Germany, the company is a European leader in coaching, performance diagnostics, bike fittings, and aero optimizations in the velodrome. Over the past decade, HYCYS has supported numerous elite cyclists and triathletes in terms of riding position, aerodynamics, and training planning.
These two protagonists have joined forces for THE AEROW project with two significant objectives: firstly, to combine all the benefits of velodrome and wind tunnel optimizations and create a game-changer in aerodynamic optimization. Secondly, to make wind tunnel tests accessible year-round for anyone in cycling or triathlon – whether a hobby athlete, amateur, or professional.
